I know that more and more buyers and sellers believe that they can "do it themselves", but had the percentage of closed transaction without an agent managing the sale increased significantly???
No!
Brian, great video and solid promotion of all your talents. I agree with Lynn that many of the FSBOs are not even familiar with the basic forms needed for getting your home on the market.
LENN: I'd certainly be interested in taking a deeper look at statistics about sales with versus sales without a qualified REALTOR. Thanks for your comment.
Brian,
Great video! Isn't it amazing what they teach in law school these days...Juggling 101! LOL, Thanks, Fran
P.S. I've suspected all along after my many transactions with lawyers that juggling may have been a prerequisite...
Brian, EXCELLENT ! I knew yours would be great !!
LYNN: There really is so much involved and so many things to know about the real estate transaction. Many agents have trouble keeping up. I'm not sure how the average homebuyer or seller can.
GARY: Thanks for your comments. I agree wholeheartedly.
FRAN: Thanks! I actually learned to juggle well before law school. It certainly helps to know how to juggle. Plus it's great at parties.
MISSY: Thanks! Glad you like the video. I'm looking forward to seeing yours.
As always you are ahead of the game........... done posted and submitted. It must be all the berries that gives you all that extra energy ... either that or I am just getting old!!!
Great job!! You amaze me at how quickly you can put a thought on paper and into action!
DEZ: I'm going to need all the energy I've got today to show homes to my clients in this 95 degrees heat! Thanks for all your help and support this week and through the competition. Looking forward to next week and a break from all the extra work.
Brian... I love the video. Especially the juggling act. I have a set of REATOR juggling balls...LOL I think I'll try a video like this using them.
Brian-that rocked! Great video...mine will be up shortly and yes it was and still is very painful. Good Luck...I knew you would do this one very well!
Brian -- Take a bow, that was great! Video is your medium. . . I liked that you incorporated your past client. Nothing speaks louder than the praise of others.
Brian this came out great as I knew it would!! I just posted mine!
MONIKA: Can you juggle? I learned at a young age and practice from time to time. Thanks for your comment.
MIDORI: Thanks for your comment! This was a very fun challenge though quite time-consuming. It's been a pleasure to watch everyone else's videos as well.
LORI: Thanks for your compliments. I really appreciate it. I agree that we could brag all day long, but nothing is better than hearing it from a satisfied client.
JEANNETTE: Thanks! I've just watched them all.
All Right, Brian !! But needs more beatles background...
TED: Beatles music would be nice, but I believe Michael Jackson owns the copyright on their entire collection, unless he sold it to pay his legal bills.
Brian - I love it - Great work! This should land you a few clients that want to work with someone who has a great personality!
Well done Brian...you are getting really good at this...I expected to have a great laugh but this was actually serious. I'm impressed!
Nice post and a great video ! I have a seller right now that is weighing the juggling !!! Thanks for the inspiration and a laugh !
Geez, Brian, if I weren't me, I'd hire you to sell my house! Great juggling!
Brian -- the internet and the TV shows give the consumer the impression they know more than they really do. I am working with some buyers who learned everything from watching TV -- they did hire me -- and they are glad -- it is much more complicated than they ever imagined in the happily ever after ending that TV to often portrays!
Brian~ Great job with the video! I haven't worked up the nerve yet to do one as I can't stand to see myself in photos let alone Video!
Brian! You didn't sound desperate! And, it was still entertaining! Thank you for your creativity. You are way ahead of the game! Good luck to both you and Desiree! Have fun at Inman.
Later in the rain~Deb
Brian,
This is great! The video even makes it entertaining.
Tanya Johnson
Yay! You didn't let us down... great job! Loved the juggling life - you'd have to have a lot more balls going to represent ours as REALTORS(R) - try it :) See you soon!
Good post. Not sure how for sale by owners can do it all, or think that they can.
I loved your video. The still pictures, the juggling and then your face all up close. Very interesting. Great job.
Brian... here to wish you luck! And looking forward to meeting you.
Brian, I so totally love your videos man! Keep up the great work!
thankfully we don't run into too many who choose to do it themselves, though as we all know we run into way too many who think they know the market and our business better that we do.
they don't sell their house either...
cheers
Brian - I posted something about statistics a while back with respect to FSBOs in my area that were "listed" with a flat fee service vs. a full service brokerages - the results were pretty stunning. I won't post the link - but it's near the end of what is currently the 3rd page of my blog - with a followup that is currently near the top of that page. The post never got much "traction" with the AR community, but it shows that full representation resulted in far more successful sales (19% vs. 54%.) The full listings sold for more money even when a decent coop was offered and for those homes that did sell the DOM was almost two months longer. You might want to check it out.
Great video and great points Brian. Selling a home is not as easy as we make it look.
Dang, brian! This is a winner! The Active Rain bookies are making you and Dez the odds on favorite to take the trophy!
Great video Brian! It's amazing that you are a lawyer too. Do you still practice. I guess if you do you could be a one-stop, do it all...
This is a great video. I bet you will find that it is a great marketing tool.
Brian- CLAP CLAP! That was awesome! You are quite talented with this video thing! moo
BILL: Thanks! Are you saying I've got personality? I remember writing about that in the past:
(You've Got) Personality
DIANE: Thanks for your comment. I hope you still laughed a bit when the cardboard house was thrown at me and at the orange puffy shirt, at least....
CHRISTOPHER & STEPHANIE: Thanks for watching -- glad you enjoyed it.
PAT: Didn't know I could juggle, did ya? Irreverent enough for you?
JOAN: Yes, some of those shows on HGTV make it seem like if you clean up the kitchen clutter and spruce up the living room with a house plant and a dash of color, the open house will bring in hordes of buyers and you'll have multiple contracts in no time. Is that really the case? I think we all know the answer.
VICKIE: Awww, don't be so shy. Thanks for your comment.
DEB: Thanks for your comments. I can be serious too, you know. This video was especially fun to produce and I've enjoyed watching everyone else's videos this week.
TANYA: Thanks for your compliments.
KIM: Thanks! I knew my juggling skills would come in handy one day.
BOB & CAROLIN: Thanks for your comments. Going it alone is not a viable choice for most people in the challenging real estate market.
DEBORAH: I appreciate you watching the video and your compliments.
ELIZABETH: Thanks for your compliments! And your cheers! This one took quite a bit of editing work. It reminded me of putting together the George Washington video, though this one was tougher. The Desperate REALTORS series are all done in one easy take and don't require much editing at all.
ELIZABETH: Thanks for your compliments! And your cheers! This one took quite a bit of editing work. It reminded me of putting together the George Washington video, though this one was tougher. The Desperate REALTORS series are all done in one easy take and don't require much editing at all.
JEFF: Thanks. Just look for the guy in the goofy orange puffy shirt at Inman! :)
JEREMY: Thanks. I think you're one of the biggest fans.
GARY: Very true. Thanks for your comments.
RUTHMARIE: Thanks for your interesting comments. I'll certainly check out your posts on the subject.
RENEE: Thanks (I think) for your comment. I'm not sure I understand it 100%.
WAYNE: Thanks for your comments.
PAT: Thanks for your additional comment and vote of support. What's the Vegas line?
TERESA: Thanks for stopping by. While my law license is still active, I don't really practice much law any more. I'm wrapping up as executor on a couple of estates, and doing some collections work for my brokerage. Other than that, I just don't have the time to practice law and sell real estate at the same time. Over 5 years ago when I left my first brokerage and joined RE/MAX, I made real estate a full-time commitment. And I haven't looked back...
CHRISTINE: I'm looking forward to sending this video out to clients, posting it on my website, etc.
KATERINA: Thanks for your applause. Greatly appreciated.
Brian-Another great video! Keep up the good work.
Joe
JOSEPH: Thanks for the remarks. This will certainly not be the last video you see from me.
Not that it always works...but when we meet someone who is considering doing a FSBO I always tell them that there is a reason that the government insists that for certain professions you have to have a license....you wouldn't pull your own teeth, do your own tonsillectomy, should't wire or plumb your own house, etc., etc. the government says...you have to prove you know what your're doing...and continue to prove it thru continuing education...can any Goofball sell a house ? Maybe....does Every Goofball understand the risks ? Probably not.
Brian, this is beautiful! Charming, sharp, funny -- you could sell me. And yet another talent you're sharing with us; I had no idea that you used to travel with the circus! (And since one of the reasons i've been MIA from AR lately is my new obsession with the flip video and windows movie maker, I totally appreciate the cool editing/narrating job!)
Excellent video! Hope it brings you lost of sellers......that are MOTIVATED!
Very cool video Brian. You're getting very good at this. Every video is better than the last. Bertha's getting jealous!!!
Brian, Great job my friend. Our job is a little more complicated than it appears and our negotiation skills, oh well, that one Iguess differs from realtor to realtor.
Hi Brian, I don't think most people understand the time commitment required for selling a house.
Honey, I came up with this great idea. Let's sell the house ourselves, it will be great. Don't you remember how great I was at negotiating on our new car. It can't be that hard, our neighbor sold his and saved like 5 million dollars.
SALLY & DAVID: Those are some good suggestions for discussing your value with a for sale by owner and showing them the reason for hiring you. Thanks for your comment.
CATARINA: Thanks for your comments. My life with the circus was short-lived. The life on the road was a bit tough and when they asked me to take my juggling act up on to the high-wire, my fear of heights took over and I decided to go to law school and then become a REALTOR instead.
KATIE: Thanks! I look forward to utilizing this video in the near future.
BRYANT: Thanks for your compliments. Maybe next time we can have Bertha appear in a cameo role as you previously suggested. I'd love it. Better check with TLW first.
Brain,
Great Video! What a wonderful, fresh out of the box way to market yourself! Cudos!
Coco
MANA: Thanks for your comments. The job of real estate agent definitely contains more than appears at first glance -- add in negotiator, marketer, counselor, advisor, friend, driver, guide, etc.
BILL: Very true. Thanks for stopping by my blog.
MICHAEL: Very funny. Sad but true.
COCO: Thanks for the compliments and "cudos."
Wow Brian: You wrote this last night, and already have 84 comments. I think somebody likes you ! :)
Great video... very nicely done. Natural, appealing, informative, just silly enough, and honestly a video to be looked at again. Congratulations on such a great job. Take care...
KAREN ANNE: They like me. They really really like me. Thanks for your comments and compliments.
Awesome video Brian! Way to show off those talents!
Brian, Excellent. Great video. I would hire you, being an attorney is an added bonus.
I think in NYC it's reversed 5% of transactions go smooth and 95% are not so smooth.
Great video Brian. I like the juggling...I need some lessons sometime. Good luck to you in San Francisco!!
I really love the video Brian....Who did the juggling? I can't juggle to save my life!
TAMARA: Thanks for the compliments.
MITCHELL: Thanks my friend. It's all those co-ops & lawyers in NYC :)
KIMBERLY: Thanks for the comment and the well-wishes. Any time you need a juggling lesson, let me know.
RUTHMARIE: Thanks! Of course, that's me juggling. I learned how many many years ago.
Brian: I honestly think your next video should be an extended juggling lesson for all of your fans who yearn to emulate you. :) Take care... Happy Sunday !
Great video....you have a talent for the video business.....
I had to come back by again to watch that juggling maniac! Made me laugh my butt off again!
KAREN ANNE: Funny. I just might do that when I get a chance. I'm not responsible for everybody else's hand-eye coordination or lack thereof.
TEAM HONEYCUTT: Thanks for your support. Look for many more in the future.
JEREMY: Thanks for stopping by again. I'm glad you can have a good laugh. It wasn't funny getting hit in the head 5 times by that flying house -- though my wife thought it was hilarious!
Great job, Brian! Your best video yet. I expect to see you on the big screen someday soon.
nice video...i'm ready to hire you!
Hi Brian, Yes, a productive Realtor has many things to do. Need to consider investing in an Accredited Staging Professional. I serve the quadstate area. Contact Me.
MARGARET: Thanks for the compliment. I wouldn't mind being on the silver screen!
MICHAEL: Thanks! You're not going to ask about lowering my commission now, are you?
JODI: Thanks for your comment.
Brian,
Love this, I am sold. Do you remember that Jerry Springer was an attorney, He used to say when he first got started, "I used to be an attorney, now I am a talk show host".
I like your slogan much better:-)
Brian -- Congratulations on your big win!! Great video...but that doesn't surprise me. Everything you do is quality!
Brian - what a great video that captured what a humble & genuine person you are. Congrats on your win - you deserved it!!!!!
Tina in Virginia
REBECCA: Thanks! Not sure I'd want to use Jerry Springer's slogan!
CANDACE: Thank you so very much! I really appreciate all your kind words.
TINA: Thanks! It was such a pleasure to meet you in San Francisco last week. Hope you had a safe trip home.
Another fabulous, funny video! You're going to be a big hit w/the consumers!
Hi Brain,
Nice video and excellent use of testamonial.
Brian, It is great to see your video and **congrats** on the huge success that the contest brought you. Wonderful job and look at all you have done. Phew, what a huge amount of work!!
TRACY: Thanks! That's the goal.
ANONYMOUS: Thanks!
KAREN: Thanks so much. Time to take a little rest.
You are very creative. This is funny but also makes great points. I would see it also appealing to FSBO and first time buyers needing help. Post another blog later and let us know if you have had any sucess with this video.
DEE DEE: Thanks so much for your kind comments about my video. I enjoy the creative side of the business and adding some spice and humor.
